Harvest Rounds

A collaboration with Artist Seiko Kinoshita engaging two very different age groups has brought interesting idea developments in various cast concrete sculptures and wall plaques with added mosaics, colours and textures.

Seiko and Coralie worked with a local Secondary School and older age community together to make mosaics for 24 wall plaques which will be installed along the wall of an older age development (Buchanan Green) in Autumn 2026.

Seiko and Coralie also made 7 sculptures with detailed mosaics for the adjoining green space.

The title Harvest rounds reflects on two things:

The original farmland where the project in placed (now housing). In the 1950’s and 60’s - slum clearance from Sheffield’s industrial steel communities around Attercliffe resulted in farmland at Parson cross being developed into a large area of social housing.

Despite some negative press, Parson cross is a lovely place to live with strong community vibes and is surrounded by countryside and ancient woodland.

This project attempts to re-connect this part of the estate with the farming landscape with the seasons in the crop growing year through textures and colours concerned with crop rotation and weather patterns. From soil to seed and from ridge and furrow to fallow periods.

The sculptures and the wall pieces create a trail that engages the public with the new development and provides a more welcoming face to the building through hand made elements and colour.
